Providers & keys
Console → Connections lists the services you hold accounts with and your real keys there. A provider says where its API is and where the key goes; its keys are the connections.
Add a provider
New provider opens the template picker: AI models, crypto data, RPC, exchanges, developer tools and proxies, with search. A template fills in the address, how the key is sent (header, Bearer, query parameter, in the path, or signed), the health-check path and which statuses mean “try the next key”. Custom lets you set everything yourself.
Several keys per provider
strategylimitsper_minuteprice / unitsThe gateway reacts to what providers answer: three 401/403 in a row mark the key as rejected (it stops being used until you mark it working or replace it); a 429 cools the key down for its Retry-After. Disabled, expired, cooling or over-budget keys are skipped; the drawer shows each key's state and today's and this month's usage.
Calls without a key
- First without a key, keys when limited: free tiers first (for example DexPaprika), your keys take over when every IP is rate-limited.
- Always without a key: public APIs (for example DexScreener), usually through an IP pool.
Proxy providers
A proxy provider (Webshare) holds account API keys. The gateway lists your proxies with them every 10 minutes; use the key as a source of an IP pool.
Your own keys for marketplace APIs
Marketplace APIs that run on your own provider account (search and scraping services) appear first in the template picker on pikeway. Save your key there and calls to that API through Pikeway use it; the provider bills you and Pikeway charges nothing. You can save several keys with budgets, like any provider. See Bring your own key.
